Let me tell you about my friend...

Updated: Mar 4, 2020

Morgan is 18 years young but filled with more wisdom and energy than a dozen generations. We often hear people described as having an old soul. Morgan might have an old soul but with a young heart and a fiery, enthusiastic craving for life!

In today’s world, people argue about politics, being politically correct, and finding offense in every little thing. We treasure the days where men were gentlemen and took care of their families, while at the same time, desperately strive to see equality and strength for all. It seems taking a “side” is always talked about, as if we must make a choice between good old-fashioned values & tradition or being equally respected and honored. Y’all, there is no choice to be made. If we can go where no man, or woman for that matter, has gone before, we can most certainly embrace every idea that is right, and stop labeling people under our own ideas and taste.

I say all this, eloquently enough I hope, because to me, Morgan represents this dichotomy by blending the standards across the board. This southern belle brings to light all values, equality, the crossing of gender lines, and highly regarded traditions in our sometimes, unsophisticated world. No one should judge who we are as women. Be it dresses, lipstick, camouflage, or cowgirl boots, a woman is how WE define her. There aren’t rules in this game of life. What makes us feel beautiful as women should be presented with dignified pride, honor, and preferably a nice strand of pearls!

Morgan has the most engaging eyes that twinkle in the sunshine, her smile is pure & contagious, her walk is that of a young girl, too busy stargazing and daydreaming of romance, watching “The Voice,” or dressing in camo while adorned with her Ravin Crossbow as she patiently waits in her tree stand with her dad. Morgan’s as pretty as a peach, as sweet as maple syrup on a pancake Sunday, and sharp as a whip. She represents what a real woman, or mind you, a real lady, looks like in this blessed part of our country known as the Bible Belt. She loves her country, her daddy & mama, and her God. She studies more hours a day than most people sleep and appreciates a warm chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. Without fear, she approaches any handsome young man, 12-pointer buck, or Chemistry final with refinement, grace, and ease. Morgan can dance barefoot under the wondrous night’s sky or field dress a freshly killed buck to harvest, but I reckon either way, Morgan gives it her all.

Why do I feel the need to write about Miss Morgan? That’s simple. I believe great people should be talked about. Adoring stories should be told and passed around like sweet potato pie during a family reunion. We can turn on the news and see everything “wrong” in the world, or we can focus on what’s good and experience the cleverness of today's youth that inspires and gives hope for a brighter tomorrow. I am blessed to know this young lady named Morgan Bailey, and I cannot wait to see what she does to make this world a better place.

She’s off to one heck of a start!
